One-grip controls

All of the engine's operating modes are located together in one and the same handle. The work becomes simple and convenient while increasing safety.

Spring-loaded start/stop button

With the spring-loaded start/stop button, the machine always automatically returns to the start position and it is always ready to start. Incredibly simple and convenient.

Handle heat (W)

Very high comfort during the colder seasons. The handle heating (W) is easily switched on and off as needed via a switch on the left handle.

Interlock system

Since the locking pin can be locked in one position and does not have to be held, changing cutting tools is very easy.

Compensator

Stihl compensator, a control system in the carburettor, which ensures that the fuel-air mixture is always optimal in relation to how dirty the filter is. The compensator provides optimal effect with low emissions. Only when 80% of the filter surface is occupied is it time to clean the filter. The filter cleaning intervals are significantly extended and enable long work shifts without interruption.

Air filter with long operating time

Easily accessible pleated paper filter with large total filter surface provides very long cleaning intervals. Easily accessible location so that work interruptions are kept to a minimum.

Primer

With the manual fuel pump, gasoline is pumped into the carburetor with a few simple thumb presses. You no longer have to pull the starter rope to get petrol to the carburettor. There is no risk of overfilling as all excess petrol flows back into the tank.

Safety glasses

For your safety always want to deliver with a pair of safety glasses. The glasses have a good fit and wide side shields.

Starter control (M-Tronic)

With M-Tronic, you don't have to think about whether the machine is cold or hot when starting, there is only one start position on the start control. The exact right amount of fuel is automatically pumped forward. You don't have to think about anything at start-up, the system takes care of everything. Just start, give full throttle and drive. Incredibly easy, simple convenient and safe.

2-MIX engine

Stihl's two-stroke engine with 2-MIX technology provides high power, good traction and saves up to 20% fuel compared to equivalent STIHL two-stroke engines without 2-MIX technology. The emissions of harmful substances are also greatly reduced by up to 70% and the engine meets the requirements according to EU II without any problems.

4-point anti-vibration system

On the new generation of STIHL clearing saws, there are built-in steel springs as anti-vibration elements. These steel springs absorb and reduce the oscillations that occur in the motor and the rotating cutting tool. The handles become almost vibration-free, which provides a very good working environment and the machine is very easy to drive and control.

Easy2Start (E)

A spiral spring between the pulley and the crankshaft stores the energy and compensates the power peaks from the starting pull. Result: you only need half as much force to start the machine and the speed of the actual starting pressure can be reduced by as much as two thirds.

M-Tronic

Fully electronic ignition point control and fuel metering. The STIHL M-Tronic (M) engine control system provides optimal engine power, constant top speed and very good acceleration in all modes. In addition, the system has a memory function, which further improves driving characteristics. Manual carburetor adjustment is a thing of the past.

 

Large fuel tank

The transparent fuel tank holds a full 0.75 l (FS 240 - 460) or 0.99 l (FS 490/560), which provides long work sessions without any disturbing tank stops. The fuel level is easy to check because the tank is transparent, which also eliminates unnecessary stops. It is also easy to fill in new petrol in the well-proportioned opening.

Angle gear 25°

On the new generation of STIHL clearing saws for forest clearing, the angle gear has a special inclination of 25° so that the machine is optimally adapted to the clearing work in forest and land. Work comfort is significantly increased.

 

Rule

A handlebar facilitates work and improves ergonomics and is the natural first choice when working over larger surfaces. With a handlebar, you can work calmly and methodically in large oscillating movements, from side to side. The handlebars can also be adjusted according to your needs.

 

Tool-free adjustment of the handlebars

The handlebar is individually adjustable via a single knob, completely without tools. It can also be folded down completely against the rigging pipe in the so-called transport mode.

 

Winter mode

Very simple system where the machine can be quickly switched from summer to winter mode. During the cold season, icing of the carburettor and air filter is thus prevented.
